A few months ago, a rep from Thanks A Dozen started calling me over and over trying to convince me to give Brandelopes a try. His advice was "don't over think it – don't try to find the perfect fit – just send me your clients logo…" I hate to admit that I cringed a little when he called as I am so busy and just didn't have time to listen to "another pitch". I finally sent him 3 logos, more or less to get him off my back. I was positive that none of my clients would purchase these. I could think of many reasons they wouldn't work: They were too expensive. My clients could get them from their paper printer. My clients don't do much mailing....and on and on. I knew if I gave it a try I could just tell the rep the next time he called that the Brandelope just did not work for my client demographics.

A few days after I sent in the logos, I received the most beautiful spec samples that I could not wait to show my clients, so much so that I mailed them to the clients immediately. Long story short, 2 of the 3 specs placed orders immediately. I sent another logo in for another spec and that client also placed an order. The Brandelope is the easiest sale I've ever made! I didn't have to do a darn thing, but send in the logo!

One of my clients markets is a large Motion Picture Entertainment Company and sells DVD releases to their buyers. The buyers range from Best Buys, Wal-Mart, K-Mart and any business with DVD sales or rentals. They send out a promotional package with a copy of the DVD to these prospective buyers. The goal is to create excitement over the new title release, thus getting a hopeful large order for copies. I suggested to them they use the Brandelope instead of their normal manila packaging.

The key to all of this was having a spec sample made of one of their movies. The digital graphics were spectacular, and had the movie's "ad/poster" on the cover. I met with the group to present this concept. When I pulled the Spec Sample Brandelope out of my bag they were floored. They loved it because of the high impact visibility, and also the end user could actually use the Brandelope as a display piece promoting the movie's release.

Since this initial meeting, we have done approximately 2600-2800 a month for the latest new release. All of this was made possible by the great help from the "Thanks a Dozen" staff AND by showing a pre-pro!! Show a spec sample!!! It's worth gold!!! It sells itself!!!

For our larger clients, we are constantly on the look-out for items that are unique and different. One day we received and email from the fine folks at Thanks A Dozen about a new and exciting product named the Brandelope. After looking at email, I immediately thought "this is cool, I've got to get a sample of this for our client." I then created a layout for a client and sent it in for a mock-up to be done and shipped to the client.

Within a few days, I received an email from FedEx saying the package had been delivered to the client. I then set up a time to call the client later on in the week to ask what they had thought of the idea. However, to my surprise, I received a call 20 minutes later from the client saying, "We want 500 of these, this is a great idea!" I then proceeded to get the client back down to earth, so that we could price them out and decide on the right quantity. They also wanted to make some changes to the mock-up to make it a more personal design, all of which went smoothly. They client has loved the product so much that we even received this email recently from them:

Dear Kevin-

Thank you for presenting the "Brandelope" to us as a way to enhance our direct mail marketing efforts! The envelope after customization we feel better brought the full scope of our services to current and potential customers than the mailing itself. We have had a very positive feedback, and know the built-in file folder aspect is a great feature that encourages the recipient's to keep us on file. Thank you again for recommending this product and your assistance in the design. We greatly appreciate the service,

Sincerely,

Ryan

My client is a multi-family housing management company (apartment communities). They buy and/or manage communities across the country and they were looking for a product they could send their company brochure in to potential investors. I showed them the Brandelope and it compliments their company brochure, making the entire "package" very eye-catching. Their competitors send their brochures in brown envelopes or UPS/FedEx packages. The Brandelopes help to set my client apart from these competitors and have been such a huge hit that my client has continued to re-order them.
